Types of resistance training: a bibliometric review

Abstract

The objective of the research was to develop a bibliometric review of the scientific production related to the types of resistance training in the period 2014 to 2023 based on the Scopus and Web of Science databases. 4559 records were obtained after the unification of the results of both databases and a set of indicators such as annual scientific production, collaboration between countries, the most productive institutions and the co-occurrence of terms were analyzed. The main results were that the subject maintains a scientific production with a sustained increase, where research is mostly carried out in collaboration between several institutions and countries. The results, mostly through the typology of scientific articles, have a multidisciplinary character where the type of aerobic training is the most investigated in sports disciplines.
