Open access policy

The Cuban Journal of Forest Sciences is an open access publication and its principle is to publish research free of charge to the entire educational community, promoting greater exchange of global scientific knowledge. Which means that all its content can be freely accessed at no cost to the user or their institution. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of Cfores articles because everything is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License .

This journal does not charge for carrying out the editorial process for manuscripts received (Non-APC). The source of financing is the University of Pinar del Río "Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca".

With this, it participates in the initiatives in favor of open access to scientific information promoted by the Budapest Declaration ( Budapest Open Access Initiative, 2002 ) and Berlin Declaration (Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, 2003 ). ascribing to the Open Access paradigm, defined in international declarations as "free access through the Internet to scientific literature, respecting existing copyright laws."

Use of Data Servers

Data servers play a crucial role in scientific journals by providing a reliable platform for storing and sharing datasets related to published research. Their importance lies in the fact that they promote transparency and reproducibility of studies, allowing other researchers to verify and use the data in future work. Furthermore, these servers promote scientific collaboration by facilitating global access to key information. Centralizing data also optimizes resources and avoids duplication of efforts, strengthening the integrity and efficiency of the scientific process.
The use of data servers in scientific journals has become essential in modern research. These servers provide a platform for storing, sharing, and accessing datasets relevant to published research.

Accessibility: They allow researchers around the world to access data to reproduce studies or conduct related research.

Transparency and reproducibility: Making data available promotes scientific integrity, as others can verify the results.
Collaboration: Facilitates exchange between research teams, promoting collaborative discoveries.
Efficiency: Storing data on centralized servers avoids duplication of collection or processing efforts.

Preprint Servers
Preprint servers are platforms where researchers can share preliminary versions of their manuscripts prior to peer review. This allows them to establish precedence, receive feedback, and improve their work before submitting it to an academic journal. Many journals and scientific societies accept the use of preprints and have specific policies regarding them.
