PODIUM, the Journal of Science and Technology in Physical Culture, is part of the Center for Studies in High-Performance Sports Training (CEEDAR), affiliated with the "Nancy Uranga Romagoza" Faculty of Physical Culture at the "Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca" University of Pinar del Río. It is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal. Its external peer-review system is geared towards researchers in the science of physical education and sport, as well as individuals and institutions interested in the training of new generations, both in Cuba and internationally. This journal began publication in January 2006 and has been published continuously ever since.

PODIUM's main objective is to disseminate the findings of researchers in the sciences of physical activity and sport and, in turn, to help deepen the various dimensions of knowledge. It aims to provide readers with scientific rigor and accessible information presented in an engaging style that fosters exchange within the scientific community of Cuba and the world.

PODIUM's mission is to promote the dissemination and exchange of research experiences through the publication of high-quality articles that contribute significant new insights and foster innovation in the fields of Physical Education, Sport, Recreation, Physical Culture in general, and applied sciences, in Pinar del Río, Cuba, and worldwide.

PODIUM's vision is to achieve visibility and media coverage in the dissemination of scientific results, positioning itself as a leading journal in the fields of applied sciences, Physical Education, Sport, Recreation, and Physical Culture in general.

Following a continuous publication methodology, PODIUM will publish a single volume covering the period from January to December (annual frequency). This format will allow for the progressive inclusion of articles throughout the year, maintaining active publication until its closing in December. This format will be implemented starting with volume 14, corresponding to the year 2026. Its publication language is Spanish and English, and the title and abstract of each article are also presented in Portuguese.

This journal does not charge any publication fees. PODIUM also adheres to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

The journal supports Open Science and, therefore, accepts manuscripts from preprint repositories or those that promote the placement of research data on data servers, among other methods.
