Booklet on the history of handball in Pinar del Río, content for theoretical preparation

Abstract

The sport since its evolution, has marked transcendental events in the history of nations, events that when written, become invaluable heritage. Handball preserves and enriches its history at an international level. Many authors have given their versions on the introduction and development of handball in Cuba; this history has been enriched with the valuable written works of some provinces. Pinar del Río has been a power of this sport at national level, contributing great figures who have represented Cuba in international events, but it does not have a written history, which limits the integral formation of the athletes of the sport and the graduates of the race Physical Culture. During the investigation, theoretical, empirical and statistical methods were used, emphasizing by their relevance the logical historical method and the testimony. The results were presented in a brochure structured with a cover, introduction, development, Bibliography and Annexes, reflecting the introduction of the sport, the names of the first atheists, coaches, referees, managers, athletes and coaches that comprised the national team, among other aspects of interest. These results are of significant importance in the training of the athletes and allow to be approached as content of the theoretical preparation, besides that it enriches the local history and the history of the sport of Pinar del Rio.
