Abstract

The special physical preparation process constitutes one of the fundamental links to achieve good results in the competitive stage, however there were insufficiencies on the part of the coaches consisting of developing the special speed and the defense of the field as independent aspects in school volleyball players, that raised the need to develop his research, which aimed to develop a methodology for the development of special speed, during the stage of special preparation that affects the improvement of results in the defense of the field of school volleyball players. The methodology is structured from a theoretical-conceptual apparatus and an instrumental apparatus, its practical significance lies in proposing to coaches a work tool that guides them during the sports training of school volleyball players, according to the characteristics of contemporary volleyball, to obtain better sports results, which constitutes a new and essential experience. From the use of theoretical, empirical and technical methods that allowed the collection of information, the theoretical-methodological characterization of the special physical preparation was achieved with emphasis on the special speed in the defense of the field
